Welder
Job Summary
The Welder is responsible for fabricating, assembling, installing, and repairing metal structures, equipment, and components using various welding techniques. The role ensures that all welding work is performed safely, accurately, and in accordance with engineering drawings, company standards, and quality requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform welding using SMAW (Shielded Metal Arc Welding), GMAW/MIG, GTAW/TIG, or other approved welding processes.
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and welding symbols.
- Fabricate, assemble, and repair metal structures, pipelines, machinery, equipment, and components.
- Measure, cut, grind, and prepare metal materials before welding.
- Inspect completed welds to ensure they meet quality and safety standards.
- Perform minor fitting, grinding, and finishing work as required.
- Operate welding machines, cutting torches, grinders, and other fabrication tools safely.
- Conduct routine inspection and basic maintenance of welding equipment and tools.
- Follow welding procedures, work instructions, and quality control requirements.
- Observe all occupational health, safety, and environmental regulations, including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Maintain cleanliness and good housekeeping in the work area.
- Coordinate with supervisors, engineers, and maintenance personnel to complete assigned work efficiently.
- Perform other duties assigned by the Supervisor.
Qualifications
- High School Graduate, Senior High School Graduate, or Technical/Vocational graduate in Welding Technology or a related field.
- At least 1–2 years of experience as a Welder in manufacturing, construction, fabrication, or industrial operations.
- TESDA National Certificate (NC II) in Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW), MIG, TIG, or a related welding certification is preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and welding specifications.
- Knowledge of different welding methods, metal properties, and fabrication techniques.
- Physically fit and capable of working in confined spaces, elevated areas, and varying environmental conditions.
- Willing to work on shifting schedules, overtime, weekends, and holidays as required.
